Daniel Taub recently resigned as the Israel ambassador to the United Kingdom. Taub’s four-year term as Israeli ambassador has been very successful that it has seen trade between the United Kingdom and Israel double. The statement released by the Israeli embassy also said that there has also been substantial deepening of business, academic and cultural ties between the two countries.

Sajid Javid, the British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, while speaking at the British Israeli Business Awards recently said that total trade between the United Kingdom and Israel has entered what he termed as the “golden era”.

He further explained that more than 300 Israeli businesses have set up shop in the United Kingdom. Going by the figures of the Israel-Britain Chamber of Commerce, the two countries’ total annual bilateral trade has surpassed the $5 billion mark, though Javid’s figure is close to $7 billion.
